Geography and Features of Prince Edward Island
Prince Edward Island is one of Canada’s three Maritime provinces, located in the Gulf of St. Lawrence off the eastern coast of the country. With a total area of approximately 5,683 square kilometers (2,197 sq mi), it is the smallest of all ten Canadian provinces by land area and also has the second-smallest population among them.
Geology and Landforms
The island’s geology is primarily composed of red sandstone and shale rocks from the Paleozoic Era.
